incorporate checkboxes to help students track readings, pre-class work, etc.

It would help me keep track of my progress as I prepare for class if there were checkboxes I could use when I’d completed a reading, or formulated an adequate response to a study guide question, or completed my pre class work. It would be especially effective if there were some addition indication that all the boxes have been checked (the background color could change, for instance, but I’ll leave the specifics alone). I personally would find this feature immensely useful. I often scan the Before Class section multiple times to ensure I’ve not overlooked any assigned reading or pre-class work. I could do this much more efficiently and reliably if I were able to check off Before Class items as I complete them.
Beyond being a simple way to for students to keep themselves accountable with visual tools, it would be a valuable source of data for the AT to better understand when and how students use preparatory resources. To be clear, I'm proposing a completely optional mechanism. There need not be any academic penalty associated with not using it. It is simply a checklist integrated into the platform, so I don’t have to make one for myself every time I prepare for class.

For example, alerting us about class sessions that have recently received gradings or professors reaching out to students with information regarding pre-class work etc. On top of this, allow the option to opt-in to email notifications to be alerted of all the above separately through email.

Having this also fro reviewing assessments would also be great! 'Which feedback have I already looked at?' - 'which class have I already re-watched?' etc.

@productteam: When will this feature be available for M22? I think it's a fantastic feature!

Please!!!! I can never remember which class grades I have viewed and which I haven't.

It is still on our roadmap, however higher priority bug fixes and features took precedence over the summer.

@productteam, what happened to this? It would be very useful to have checkboxes next to readings and also next to the assessments in the assessments tab. This would help track what has and hasn't been "processed" by us.
Another option would be some kind of notification screen, with persistent notifications. Think Github not Facebook.
